The remote community of South East Bight, on the South Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, receives a special visit from the Mounties every year in December. For over two decades, the RCMP has been transporting Santa and his Christmas loot to the community via boat.
This year's event is scheduled for December 17, 2019, weather permitting, where gifts will be delivered for the children of the community. The Burin Peninsula RCMP will be assisted by their friends from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources.
Santa is not going back to the mainland empty handed. In the spirit of giving, the kids at St. Anne's School in South East Bight have organized a coat drive. These will be sent back to donate to others in need.
This is a fun festive time that is enjoyed by everyone.
