Yesterday, Whitbourne RCMP were notified of an 81-year-old man who was reported missing from the community of Dildo. He was last seen at approximately 1:00 p.m. and was believed to be travelling on foot.
Police officers from Whitbourne and Placentia Detachments responded and deployed the Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue to assist in the search.
Police Dog Services out of Holyrood also attended the scene and conducted a search. At approximately 7:00 p.m., Police Service Dog Grinch located the man in a wooded area near Battlefield Road in Dildo. The man was uninjured.
