Man sentenced to three years in prison in connection with investigation into images of child sexual abuse

A 70-year old man from Sussex Corner, N.B., has been sentenced to three years in prison for charges stemming from an investigation into images of child sexual abuse, which began in late 2016.

On June 8, 2017, police executed a search warrant at a home in Sussex Corner and a man was arrested.

Milton Wayne Taylor was subsequently charged with accessing child pornography, possession of child pornography, and making available child pornography.

On October 22, 2019, Milton Taylor appeared in Saint John Court of Queen's Bench, and was sentenced to 36 months for making available child pornography and 24 months for possession of child pornography. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Taylor has been added to the National Sex Offender Registry for life, and will be required to submit a DNA sample. Following his release from prison, he will have to abide by several conditions set out by the court, including not to be near children.

New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit includes members of the Saint John and Kennebecasis Regional Police Forces. The RCMP's Digital Forensics Services section, the Southeast District RCMP, and the RCMP National Child Exploitation Crime Centre also assisted in the investigation.
