Man charged with first-degree murder of Corey Sisson

A 32-year-old man from the Kingsclear First Nation has been charged with murder in connection with the homicide of a 19-year-old Fredericton man who had been reported missing to the Fredericton Police Force on July 30, 2019.

On August 10, the remains of a man were discovered in a wooded area off Route 10, in Noonan, and identified as those of Corey Sisson. His death was determined to have been a homicide.

On August 12, a man was arrested by the Fredericton Police on an outstanding warrant on an unrelated matter. He was also a suspect in the RCMP's investigation into the death of Corey Sisson.

On August 16, Robby Mitchell Polchies appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court and was charged with first-degree murder.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court in Burton on September 10 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
