Man charged in connection with several property crimes

A 38-year-old man from Red Bank, N.B., is facing a number of charges in connection with three recent incidents of property crime in nearby communities.

On January 13, 2019, members of the Blackville RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress. A garage at a residence on Route 415 in Warwick Settlement had been broken into.

Through the investigation, police were able to identify a possible suspect, and a 38-year-old man was arrested at a residence in Red Bank.

Joseph James Fitzgerald appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court on January 14 and was charged with break and enter with the intent to commit a theft.

During the investigation, two search warrants were executed at a residence and on a vehicle in Red Bank, and stolen property was recovered.

As a result, Joseph Fitzgerald was also charged with theft and mischief in connection to an incident at a veterinary clinic in Red Bank on January 9, and with break and enter and possession of stolen property in connection with a break and enter into a construction trailer on a property in Whitney on January 13.

Joseph Fitzgerald was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on the afternoon of January 16.
