Iqaluit RCMP responded early this morning to a residence in the 500 Block of housing in the Lower Iqaluit/Happy Valley area within the City of Iqaluit. RCMP restricted movement in the area and contained the incident to a single residence for the safety of all residents.
At approximately 1:30 PM the situation was resolved, a male suspect was taken into custody without incident. The investigation is continuing; no further information is available at this time.
Detachment and City Bylaw members would like to thank the community for their support and understanding of the need to restrict travel in certain areas of the City this morning. All barricades have been removed, and traffic can flow as normal.
