On October 30th, at 5:15 p.m., a member of the public alerted the Montague RCMP of a possible impaired driver in Montague. As a result of that call, just minutes later, officers from the Montague RCMP located the suspect vehicle.

The driver, a 50 year-old woman from Montague was taken into custody for impaired driving. She was transported to the RCMP Detachment in Brudenell where she provided two suitable samples of her breath four times the legal limit. As a result, her vehicle was immediately impounded for 30 days.

She was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Georgetown Provincial Court at a later date.

The RCMP are thankful to the members of the public who assist in the efforts at keeping impaired drivers off the roads by making calls to 9-1-1 to report erratic driving and offering drives to those who need a safe ride home. With potential outcomes being so serious, it's important that we all work together to stop impaired driving. Thank you!
