RCMP NL will be cheering on one of its own as Constable Stephanie Guzzwell competes with Team NL at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts happening in Sydney, Nova Scotia, February 16-24.

Cst. Guzzwell, from Mt. Pearl, became a RCMP police officer in 2017 and currently is stationed in Nova Scotia. She credits her RCMP family with being very supportive of her commitment to the sport of curling.

"I wanted to pursue a career in policing for such a long time and now to finally realize that dream with the RCMP and to have their support to compete at this level, in a sport that I absolutely love, is truly heart warming," said Cst. Guzzwell. "My colleagues in not only Nova Scotia, but Newfoundland and Labrador, have all been so supportive, it just makes this experience all the more special. I'm obviously representing Newfoundland Labrador on the ice, but living and working in Nova Scotia makes them a close second."

Team NL's goal this weekend is to play well and come out with a winning record.

RCMP NL wishes Cst. Guzzwell and her teammates a successful and enjoyable time at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts this weekend!
