Harbour Grace RCMP investigates serious motor vehicle collision on Route 74 near Victoria

Serious head-on motor vehicle collision on Route 74 near Victoria on July 31, 2019.

On July 31, 2019, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Harbour Grace RCMP received a report of a serious two-vehicle collision on Route 74, north of Victoria, on the Heart's Content Barrens.

Police attended the scene, along with firefighters from Victoria and Harbour Grace Fire Departments and paramedics from Eastern Health.

The vehicles struck head-on and continued to roll along the roadway before coming to their resting positions.

Occupants of the vehicles were trapped inside and removal was completed by firefighters, who used the jaws of life on one vehicle.

All three people were transported to Carbonear General Hospital for medical treatment of serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The road was impassable for almost four hours.
