Grande Prairie RCMP seize illegal drugs following search warrant execution

Between Wednesday, July 17 and Wednesday July 24, 2019, Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Section executed search warrants on a hotel room, a residence and two vehicles in the area of Grande Prairie. During the execution of the warrants, RCMP located illegal drugs and Canadian currency. The following items were seized as a result of the investigation:

  • Approximately 12 ounces (340 grams) of Cocaine
  • A large sum of Canadian currency

A 23-year-old male and a 20-year-old male from Edmonton, Alberta have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds over $5000. They are scheduled to appear in court in Grande Prairie on August 14, 2019.

As these matters are now before the court, no further information will be provided.
