Grand Bank man arrested for two break and enters; multiple charges laid

Near midnight on August 13th, 2019, RCMP responded to a reported break and enter into a private residence in Grand Bank, where a 60-year-old Grand Bank resident, George Lee Keeping, is alleged to have used a baseball bat to smash the window of the residence.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Marystown Detachment, where he was held for a Court Appearance in Grand Bank Provincial Court. While the man was in custody, a business owner in Grand Bank reported a break and enter into a store. The investigation identified the same suspect already in custody, who is alleged to have broken into the business prior to smashing the window in the private residence.

Keeping appeared in Grand Bank Provincial Court yesterday to face charges including Break and Enter into a residence, Break and Enter into a business, two counts of mischief to property, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime. He will appear in court again at a later date.

The investigations are continuing.
