News release

Four people have been arrested and the Tracadie RCMP is looking to identify the owners of a number of what are believed to be stolen items that were recently recovered.

During the overnight hours of November 19 to 20, 2019, several homes and vehicles were broken into in the area of Tilley Road, west of Tracadie, N.B.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., members of the Tracadie RCMP responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle that had just taken place. A vehicle was witnessed leaving the scene. When police located and attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, it fled. The vehicle was located a short time later, after it drove into a ditch in downtown Tracadie.

The four occupants of the vehicle were arrested. They are two 19-year-old men from Caraquet, a 16-year-old boy from Caraquet, and a 16-year-old girl from Village Blanchard. All four were released on promises to appear in Tracadie Provincial Court in March 2020.

Police also seized a number of items from the vehicle that are believed to have been stolen. Among them are various electronic devices such as cell phones, audio speakers and chargers; as well as tools, a car battery booster pack, a welding mask, a snowmobile helmet, a camera, and keys.

If you believe any of the items to be yours, or were the victim of a recent break and enter or theft, in the Tilley Road area, please contact the Tracadie RCMP at 506-393-3000.

If you have information that could assist the investigation into the thefts, contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.crimenb.ca.
