Fort Macleod RCMP along with Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit arrest and charge ten individuals

During the week of July 16, 2019, a joint operation was conducted by the Fort Macleod RCMP and the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SADCRU) to locate and apprehend individuals who were committing crimes in the vicinity.

The Alberta RCMP`s crime reduction strategy uses intelligence-led investigative tactics to target the repeat offenders who harm our communities the most.

This operation resulted in the seizure of one stolen vehicle, one stolen license plate, one stolen iPhone, two stolen IDs, 2 grams of methamphetamine and 1 ml of heroin. The following people were arrested throughout the week:

A 46-year-old male of Fort Macleod was charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Traffic property obtained by crime

He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear August 7, 2019 in Fort Macleod provincial court for one charge and was released on a Recognizance to Appear August 28, 2019 in Fort Macleod provincial court for the remaining charge

An 18-year-old male of Fort Macleod was charged with the following:

  • Failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Occupant of motor vehicle without consent
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Theft
  • Mischief

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear August 8, 2019 in Lethbridge provincial court.

A 32-year-old male of Brocket, Alta was wanted on two warrants with a total of 12 charges from Piikani Nation, Alta. He was remanded into custody, and his next court appearance is on July 31, 2019 in Lethbridge provincial court.

A 21-year-old male of Fort Macleod was charged with the following offences:

  • Theft
  • Mischief

He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear Sept. 18, 2019 in Fort Macleod provincial court.

A 26-year-old male of Lethbridge, Alta was charged with the following:

  • Resist arrest
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance X2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of heroin

A 57-year-old male of Fort Macleod was wanted on a warrant from Lethbridge, Alta. He was released on a Recognizance, and his next court appearance is on August 22, 2019 in Lethbridge provincial court.

A 36-year-old male of Fort Macleod was wanted on a warrant with a total of 3 charges from Fort Macleod, Alta. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear on Aug. 7, 2019 in Fort Macleod provincial court.
