Fatal collision between motorcycle and pickup truck

At 1:45 p.m. on July 31, Kings District RCMP responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Hwy. 201 in Greenwood. Following the collision, the truck crossed the road, and struck a nearby home.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man from Greenwood, died at the scene. The driver of the truck sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. The passenger of the truck was not injured. An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to examine the scene, resulting in the closure of Hwy. 201 until approximately midnight. The road has since been re-opened.

The investigation of the circumstances leading to the collision is ongoing. Our thoughts are with the family of the victim at this difficult time.
