Fairview RCMP lay criminal charges in recent local investigations

Local RCMP have concluded several recent files with arrests and Criminal Code charges.

On July 4, 2019, the RCMP was called to a rural residence for a firearms complaint where a male subject was carelessly discharging a firearm. RCMP members from Peace River, Spirit River, and Grande Prairie Police Dog Services attended to ensure public safety. The male was arrested peacefully without incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. A 37-year-old male of Fairview is charged with 16 Criminal Code offences. He is due in Fairview provincial court on August 14, 2019.

On July 9, 2019, the RCMP responded to a break, enter, and theft from a motor vehicle and residence in town. Jewellery amongst other items was stolen from the residence, and the suspect fled the scene. On July 11, 2019 at approximately 4 a.m., RCMP responded to another break and enter to a residence in progress. A suspect had fled the scene. As a result of these investigations, RCMP have charged a 28-year-old male of Fairview with numerous Criminal Code offences. He appeared in Fairview provincial court on July 24, 2019.

On July 14, 2019, RCMP conducted a traffic stop outside the town of Fairview for a vehicle equipment violation. Investigation led to the seizure of two prohibited firearms, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone. The investigation is still ongoing.
