Cold Lake RCMP investigate two separate incidents with firearms

On Saturday Aug. 25, 2019 at approximately 1 a.m., Cold Lake RCMP responded to an alleged drive-by shooting on Elizabeth Metis Settlement. It was reported that two shots were fired from a moving vehicle at a residence. One adult male victim who was at the residence sustained serious life threatening injuries and was transported to local hospital and later air lifted via STARS to Edmonton.

At approximately 2 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2019, Cold Lake RCMP responded to a separate alleged shooting incident at a rural residence in the MD of Bonnyville where a male had been injured. Further investigation revealed that an adult male suffered serious life threatening injuries and was brought to the hospital.

RCMP continue to investigate both shootings and believe these incidents were targeted and not random.
