Colchester District RCMP wish to warn motorists of a traffic hazard on Hwy. 102.
On the evening of September 4, several calls were received reporting cows on and near Hwy. 102 in the northbound and southbound lanes between Brookfield and Stewiacke. Several cows from a nearby farm broke away from the pasture and have been roaming in the woods, and some of the cows were in the area of the 102.
The Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal has posted signs along the highway cautioning motorists. The highway remains open however drivers are being advised to drive with caution.
