Burin Peninsula RCMP cracks down on drug activity

On December 12, 2019, following the execution of a search warrant on a residence in Grand Bank, Burin Peninsula RCMP arrested a 51-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

A quantity of cocaine packaged for sale, cash, illicit marihuana, several 60-ounce bottles of contraband liquor, and other drug paraphernalia were seized.

The two individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to attend court on February 12, 2020, to answer to charges of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of illicit cannabis.

In addition, over the past two months, Burin Peninsula RCMP executed search warrants at two other residences. Charges were laid against a 26-year-old Marystown man for trafficking in cocaine and a 47-year-old Marystown man for trafficking in cocaine and possession of illicit cannabis.
