News release

On July 31, 2019, a young female was approached by a man driving a vehicle on Hillview Avenue in Stephenville. The vehicle pulled over beside her and the driver asked her to get into his vehicle. The female did not know the driver and refused to get in the car.

The driver is described as a man in his forties with a bald head.

The vehicle was described as a blue car, believed to be a Honda, with stickers on the front windshield.

Officers immediately patrolled the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. With warmer weather and increased pedestrians, police remind the public not to accept rides from strangers.
