At approximately 8:05 a.m. on September 5, 2019, Bay Roberts RCMP received a complaint of a cow on a roadway in North River.

Police officers responded and located the cow, a young bull from Bay Roberts, grazing on some grass along the roadway in North River.

While grazing on grass is not a violation, a roaming cow in the road was considered a danger to traffic so police implemented the mooove over law.

The cow peacefully allowed the officer to tie him to a nearby fence until his owner was located. The owner then walked the cow safely back to Bay Roberts.

Thankfully, there were no accidents or injuries.
