Alberta RCMP member charged after investigation

A Leduc, Alta. RCMP member has been charged following an Alberta Serious Incident Response Team investigation.

Const. Kelly Brown (37), of the Leduc Detachment, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

It is alleged that during the early morning hours of July 6, 2017, while in Leduc, Const. Brown sexually assaulted an adult woman. He was off-duty at the time.

Const. Brown has been suspended with pay since July, 2017. He has been with the RCMP for 13 years.

Const. Brown's first appearance in Leduc provincial court is Oct. 17, 2019.
