The Sackville RCMP has seized a large quantity of contraband cigarettes and cash.

More than 310,000 unstamped cigarettes, as well as a quantity of cash, were seized during a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway near Sackville at approximately 11 a.m. on March 7, 2019.

Fifty-five-year-old Paul Perry of East Preston, N.S., appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on March 8. He has been charged with two counts of possession of unstamped tobacco, one count of possession of more than one thousand cigarettes and one count of selling, offering to sell, delivering and possessing unstamped tobacco.

Paul Perry is scheduled to return to court on April 5.

Another 55-year-old man from Dartmouth, N.S., was also arrested and released on a recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on July 9.
