Turtleford RCMP Update: Two more suspects arrested in break and enter & armed robbery in Edam, SK

North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Section have charged and arrested two suspects in relation to a break and enter and armed robbery that occurred at a residence north of Edam, SK, on Jan. 12, 2018. No further suspects are being sought.

On June 26, 2019, Joel Daniel Dillon, of Onion Lake, SK, plead guilty to several offences related to this incident. Dillon is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 2, 2019, in Battleford Queen's Bench Court.

Fraser Kane Littlewolfe, of Thunderchild First Nation, was arrested on Aug. 1, 2019, for his involvement in this incident. He is facing the following charges:

  • Break, enter and commit robbery with a firearm, Sec. 348(1)(b) and 344(1)(a.1) of the Criminal Code;
  • Use of firearm in a careless manner, Sec. 86(1) of the Criminal Code;
  • Point a firearm in a careless manner, Sec. 87 of the Criminal Code;
  • Discharge a firearm while being reckless, Sec. 244.2 of the Criminal Code;
  • Wear a disguise with intent to commit an offence, Sec. 351(2) of the Criminal Code;
  • Forcible confinement, Sec. 279(2) of the Criminal Code; and
  • Possession of firearm While Prohibited, Sec. 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code.

Littlewolfe has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear to his next court appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Aug. 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m.

2018-08-28

On August 24, 2018 at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of the North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Section and North Battleford Provost Section arrested a serving prisoner at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre in Alberta in relation to a Break and Enter and Robbery that occurred at a residence north of Edam on January 12, 2018.

The prisoner was transported back to North Battleford and appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on August 27, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.

  • Darian Jordan Meesto, is facing the following charges in relation to this incident:
  • Break and enter and commit robbery - Section 348(1)(b) and 344(1)(a.1) of the Criminal Code
  • Use a firearm in a careless manner - Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Point a firearm in a careless manner - Section 87 of the Criminal Code
  • Discharge a firearm while being reckless - Section 244.2 of the Criminal Code
  • Wear a disguise with intent to commit an offence - Section 351(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Forcible confinement - Section 279(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Meesto's next court appearance is on August 29, 2018.

Turtleford RCMP: Break and enter; robbery

2018-01-12

On January 12, 2018 shortly after 1:00 a.m. Turtleford RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter and robbery at a residence north of Edam near Highway #26. Three individuals entered the residence wearing black masks. A number of items were taken from inside the residence before the three individuals left in an unknown vehicle in an unknown direction. An adult male, adult female and youth inside the residence at the time of the incident did not report any injuries to police. We do not have any further descriptions of the three people who entered the residence. Turtleford RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Section. We are seeking assistance from the public in identifying any suspicious vehicles that may have been in the Edam area last night.
