Update: Man arrested in fatal two-vehicle crash

The Southeast District RCMP have arrested the driver of a vehicle involved in a two-vehicle collision that has claimed the life of one man. A 45-year-old man from ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Bouctouche was arrested on September 12, 2018.

The crash happened on September 11 at around 9 p.m. on Highway 11 at Black River Bridge. A vehicle heading south on the highway appears to have crossed the centre line and collided with a vehicle heading north.

The driver of the car travelling southbound fled the scene. A passenger in the southbound vehicle, a 44-year-old man from Bouctouche, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. Another passenger in the same car was taken to hospital with injuries.

The driver and lone occupant of the northbound vehicle was also taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

The investigation is continuing.
