Two suspicious house fires in 5 days

In the early hours of Monday, January 8 and Friday, January 12, Antigonish District RCMP, along with Tracadie Volunteer Fire Department and Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department, responded to 2 separate house fires. The homes were abandoned and neither had power or a heat source. Both homes were fully engulfed when fire fighters arrived on scene and were complete losses. No-one was injured in either instance.

Property owners are asked to regularly check abandoned properties to ensure they are secure, and to report suspicious activity to police.

Antigonish District RCMP is investigating the matter, with assistance from the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal's Office.
