Three-vehicle crash claims life of 60-year-old man

The Northeast District RCMP is investigating a three-vehicle collision on Route 11 in Madran, N.B., that has claimed the life of one man and injured another.

Bathurst RCMP responded to the collision at around 1:50 p.m., on April 25, 2018. The investigation indicates that a vehicle travelling north crossed the centre line and struck a vehicle heading south. A third vehicle, also travelling south, was unable to avoid the initial crash.

A 60-year-old man from Petit-Rocher who was the driver and lone occupant of his vehicle was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 23-year-old man from Dieppe, the driver and lone occupant of the second vehicle involved in the crash, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 39-year-old woman from Nova Scotia who was the driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing.
