Rocky Mountain House RCMP seize stolen vehicle and firearms in Caroline

On Oct. 25, 2018, the Rocky Mountain House RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Caroline. As a result of the search, the following stolen property was recovered: a vehicle from Calgary, an Alberta license plate, stolen batteries from an oilfield company, a firearm, and copper wire. Three individuals were arrested at the residence, and are facing the following criminal charges:

A 34-year-old female, a 33-year-old male, and a 26-year-old male, all of Caroline, have been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x2)
  • Unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm (x2)
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm

In addition to these charges, the 33-year-old male has been charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm contrary to an order (x2)
  • Breach of recognizance (x3)

The 34-year-old and 26-year-old individuals were released by a Justice of the Peace on their own recognizance, and will appear in Alberta Provincial Court in Rocky Mountain House on Oct. 31, 2018.

The 33-year-old male was remanded into custody, and will appear in Alberta Provincial Court in Rocky Mountain House on Oct. 31, 2018.

"This search is an example of a larger crime reduction strategy that focuses on conducting targeted, intelligence-led investigations," says Cpl. Josh Matthies of the Rocky Mountain House RCMP. "Property crimes are a priority for the Alberta RCMP, and there is a strategic focus on repeat crime offenders".
