RCMP seeking public’s assistance following an armed robbery

The Southeast District RCMP, Sackville detachment, is asking for the public's assistance in relation to an armed robbery in Port Elgin.

On January 18, 2018, around 8:45 p.m., a male armed with a hunting knife entered Coles Grocery store on East Main Street and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes. No one was injured during the robbery. RCMP Police Dog Services also attended the scene, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a man, 5'9" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a yellow motorcycle helmet, orange and yellow sunglasses and white khaki style pants.

The investigation is continuing.
