November 19, 2018
Boundary Creek, New Brunswick

News release

The Southeast District RCMP is investigating the occurrence of several explosions in the Boundary Creek area over the weekend, and asking for information from the public to help identify the person or people responsible.

The RCMP received a number of calls about loud explosions that were heard at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018.

The investigation has determined that some kind of explosive substance was set off in a gravel pit off Highway 106. A number of shell casings were also found in the vicinity, leading police to believe that the substance was shot at in order to trigger the explosions.

No one was in the area when police arrived, and no injuries or property damage has been reported.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information on who may be responsible to contact the Riverview RCMP detachment at 506-387-2222.
