RCMP asking for information regarding recent vandalism at Red Point Park

RCMP are currently investigating a report of a needle disposal container which was vandalized at Red Point Provincial Park. There is a possibly that the contents of the container could have been scattered throughout the campground, and the disposal container is still missing.

One individual came forward to Park staff with information in regard to this incident but their name and contact information was not recorded at the time. RCMP would like to speak to this person, or any other individuals who might have information about this incident, by calling Souris Detachment directly at 902-687-9300 or by using P.E.I. Crime Stoppers to provide the information anonymously by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS); internet at www.peicrimestoppers.com , or through a free Apple/Android App available for download

Park staff members continue to check public areas including playgrounds, supervised beach areas and washrooms and remind guests of all ages in the area to wear appropriate footwear during their stay.

If a needle is found, immediately contact park staff at Red Point Provincial Park 902-357-3075, or Souris Detachment of the RCMP at 902-687-9300.
