The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) based in Prince Albert has recently completed an investigation into a drug trafficking network in the Prince Albert area and laid several charges.

The investigation began in November of 2017 when information was learned about a possible drug trafficking organization moving large amounts of cocaine and marihuana into the area.

In mid-July till early August, CFSEU executed search warrants at several residences and made several arrests in and around the Prince Albert Area.

9 people have been arrested and charged, several residences have been searched. Weapons and a large quantity of drugs have been seized and will not be sold on the streets. Four vehicles have also been seized as part of the investigation.

  • Conspiracy to traffic cocaine Sect 5(1) CDSA contrary to 465(1)(c) CC
  • Possession for purpose of trafficking cocaine Sect 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Conspiracy to traffic cannabis marihuana Sect 5(1) CDSA contrary to 465(1)(c) CC
  • Possess proceeds of crime Sect 5(1) (CDSA) contrary to Sect 354(1) CC
  • Conspiracy to possess proceeds of crime Sect 354(1) and 355(a) CC
  • Unlawfully possess firearms while prohibited Sect 117.01(1) CC
  • Unlawfully possess firearms for trafficking Sect 100 CC
  • Unsafe storage of firearms Sect 86(2) CC
  • Store a high hazard explosive contrary to Explosive Regulations Sect 21(1) of the Explosives Act
  • Possession of stolen snowmobiles Sect 354(1) and 355(a) CC (two counts)

All persons named have been arrested and made their first court appearance on Tuesday, August 6, 2018. Investigators believe this group of people were responsible for a significant amount of illegal drugs flowing into the Prince Albert area.
