Name of homicide victim released

A court-ordered publication ban has been lifted on the name of a 33-year-old woman who was a victim of a homicide in Moncton. The publication ban was ordered to allow police time to properly notify the victim's family.

The body of Naomi Bartlette was discovered at a home in Moncton on April 8, 2018. Police believe she died on April 6, 2018.

Rejean Gautreau, a 38-year-old Moncton man, appeared in court on April 9, 2018 and was charged with second-degree murder in connection with her death. He has been remanded in custody pending his next court appearance on April 23, 2018 at 9 a.m.
