Man wanted on warrant in custody

The West District RCMP has arrested a 27-year-old man from Tobique First Nation who was wanted on a warrant.

On October 17, 2017, 27-year-old Gitjepson Martin of Tobique First Nation failed to attend a court appearance and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

The West District RCMP located and arrested Martin without incident on February 14, 2018, after receiving information from the public that he was on Tobique First Nation. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on February 28, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., to enter a plea.

The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance.
