Six Roads, New Brunswick

News release

Tracadie RCMP are investigating a three vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on March 19, 2018, on Highway 11 near Six Roads that claimed the life of a Cantons de Basque man.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a car crossed the centre line and collided with a transport truck hauling logs that was travelling south on Route 11. The driver of the car died at the scene. A female passenger in the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A second vehicle was also involved in the crash when it was unable to avoid the collision. The driver, a 27-year-old woman and two children under the age of five, who were also in the car, were not injured.

The driver of the transport truck lost control of his vehicle following the crash and went off the overpass dropping to the road below. The 43-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.
