Homicide now suspected in death of 62-year-old man

The death of a Minto man is being treated as a homicide by the RCMP's Major Crime Unit.

On August 1, 2018, shortly before 10:15 a.m., the West District RCMP received a call to attend a residence on Centennial Drive in Minto. When police arrived, they found a 62-year-old man deceased in the home. An autopsy has been conducted to assist police in the investigation.

Evidence gathered by police has led them to believe he was the victim of a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 62-year-old Michael Wagnies. Anyone who may have seen anyone going in or out of the home prior to yesterday morning or have any other information they believe may assist investigators is asked to contact the RCMP at 506-327-1820 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS (8477), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
