Holyrood RCMP take two impaired drivers off the road this weekend

On Friday night, November 16, 2018, Holyrood RCMP stopped a vehicle in Harbour Main for speeding. Upon doing so, the 18-year-old male driver was suspected of being under the influence of cannabis. He was subsequently arrested and is now facing charges for impaired operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in St. John's Provincial Court in December.

On Saturday evening, Holyrood RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically on the Trans-Canada Highway near Butter Pot Park. The vehicle was then reported to have gone off the road and was in the median. The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene for impaired operation of a vehicle. He is now facing impaired driving charges. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in St. John's Provincial Court in February.
