Driver suffers serious injuries from school bus collision

8:08 a.m., a school bus with 11 students on board was travelling East on Hwy. 105 near Englishtown, when it collided with a trailer that had been left partially in the roadway overnight. The collision occurred near the crest of Kelly 's Mountain.

The 11 students who were on the bus at the time of the collision had injuries that were limited to bumps and bruises. The driver of the bus suffered serious injuries and was transported via LifeFlight to hospital for treatment.

Baddeck RCMP is investigating the cause of the collision, with assistance from an RCMP Traffic Analyst. Highway 105 is currently closed in both directions, and traffic is being diverted.
