January 16, 2018
St. Peter's, Nova Scotia

News release

Richmond District RCMP's Detachment in St. Peter's will have a temporary change to the services offered at the front counter. There will be no other changes to the policing services the community normally receives.

Beginning January 17, there will be a detachment assistant available on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Outside of those times, the public can access RCMP dispatch by using the phone in the call box outside the detachment, or by calling 1-800-803-RCMP (7267). Alternatively, the Arichat RCMP detachment will continue to offer front counter service Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed daily between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Arichat Detachment can be reached by calling 902-226-2533.

For residents who require fingerprints for criminal record checks or civil employment and live in Richmond County, this service will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays, by appointment only. To make an appointment, call the St. Peter's Detachment 902-535-2002 or the Arichat Detachment 902-226-2533 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The RCMP would like to thank the community for their patience during this time and looks forward to providing an update when front counter service fully resumes at St. Peter's Detachment.
