Carbonear Man facing numerous charges after execution of search warrant on a vehicle

On June 29, 2018, Harbour Grace RCMP, with assistance from Federal Serious and Organized Crime, executed search warrants on a vehicle. The search yielded a quantity of marihuana, a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

As a result, 51-year-old Paul Hanlon, from Carbonear, was arrested. He is facing charges of Possession of Prohibited Firearm, Possession of Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Possession of Firearm without a Licence, Possession Firearm/Ammunition while Prohibited, two counts of Failure to Comply with Recognizance, and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Mr. Hanlon is also facing charges for Arson that is alleged to have occurred in Carbonear on March 14, 2017.

He is being held in custody and will appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court later today.
