Bones identified as human as investigation into murder continues

The RCMP's Major Crime Unit has positively identified bones discovered outside a residence on Splude Street in Dundee as human. The bones were discovered by police on July 28, but not positively identified as human until August 1.

Police were called to the home on July 28, to conduct a well-being check on 54-year-old Brigitte Pelletier. Police have not yet been able to positively identify the remains which may take some time to complete.

Gilles Moreau, a 56-year-old man from Dundee, appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court on July 31 and was charged with the first degree murder of his spouse, Brigitte Pelletier. He was remanded into custody and returns to court on August 13, 2018.

The investigation is continuing.
