On January 15, 2018, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Bay St. George RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on route 490 near Stephenville Crossing.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old man from Heatherton was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and the vehicle was impounded. He will appear in court at a later date.
The Bay St. George RCMP would like to remind the public of the dangers of impaired operation of a vehicle and urges motorists to call 911 should they suspect someone is driving while impaired. Providing a description of the vehicle and driver, a licence plate number and direction of travel can assist police in locating the vehicle and getting the impaired driver off the road.
