Yellowknife RCMP stop assault in progress

Yellowknife RCMP have arrested an adult male for an assault that took place in the late evening hours of August 2nd.

At approximately 11:05 pm, Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call for service regarding an assault in progress in the Frame Lake South district. Officers attended and located the male assaulting a female victim. The male attempted to flee on foot but officers arrested him on scene. City of Yellowknife Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Stanton Territorial Hospital for medical attention.

Walter Black, 20, of Yellowknife is charged with one count of Assault – CC 266. Black will make his first appearance in Yellowknife Territorial Court on September 12, 2017.
