Alcohol seized destined for restricted community in Northwest Territories

Yellowknife RCMP seized a quantity of alcohol at North Wright Airways Terminal.

On June 17th, 2017 Yellowknife RCMP was alerted by North Wright Airways officials that they had located a quantity of alcohol in 2 shipments bound for Deline, NT, which is an alcohol restricted community. North Wright Airways also turned over to RCMP other alcohol that was seized from previous shipments that were also destined to Deline, NT.

In total, RCMP seized 27 – 375 mL bottles of vodka, 2 – 1.75 L bottles of vodka, 2 – 200 mL bottles of vodka, 1 – 375 mL bottle of whisky, 1 – 50 mL bottle of Rum, 36 – 355 mL cans of beer, 12 – 355 mL cans of mixed spirits, 1 – 750 mL bottle of wine and 3 – 500 mL of repackaged vodka.

No charges have been laid at this time, the investigation continues.
