Yellowknife RCMP investigating collision involving pedestrian and vehicle

Yellowknife RCMP are investigating an incident, which a 48-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on 51st Street in the early morning hours of August 23, 2017.

At approximately 1:15 am, Yellowknife RCMP responded immediately to a call for assistance from City of Yellowknife Emergency Medical Services after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

City of Yellowknife Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Stanton Territorial Hospital with serious injuries.

An RCMP collision analyst examined the scene. RCMP do not believe alcohol to be a factor.

The incident is still under investigation.
