Spectacle Lakes, Nova Scotia

News release

At approximately 12:30 a.m. yesterday, members of Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. The vehicle left the road, struck a utility pole, and came to rest in the adjacent water. A passing motorist went into the water and pulled the female driver out through the passenger side, and went to a nearby residence for help.

When police arrived on scene and spoke to the driver, RCMP officers determined her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired, and she was arrested at the scene. She was transported to cells and held in custody until sober. The 28-year-old woman from Bridgewater is facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80mg%. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on January 17, 2018.

The investigation is ongoing.
