Warning to motorists that elk are on the roadways around Dalhousie Junction and Dundee

The Campbellton detachment of the RCMP would like to advise residents from the Dalhousie Junction and Dundee regions that elk have been spotted on Routes 134, 11 and 280 in recent weeks.

On the night of November 23, 2017, a police cruiser struck two elk that were on the road. There were no injuries and the vehicle was damaged. The elk died as a result of the crash. Officers with the N.B. Department of Energy and Resource Development also attended the scene.

The RCMP would like to remind the travelling public to be on the lookout for wildlife on or crossing roadways and to report any sightings.
