Two men injured, one in custody, following motor vehicle collision

A man is in custody and facing criminal driving charges following a motor vehicle collision that left two other men injured.

On Friday night, September 29, just before 11:00 p.m., Lunenburg County RCMP, EHS, and the Chester Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision involving a car and a parked SUV on Central Street in Chester. Two male passengers were transported to South Shore Regional Hospital. Later, due to the seriousness of his injuries, one of those men, an 18-year-old from Chester Basin, was transported to the QEII hospital by LifeFlight.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Chester, was arrested. He faces two charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm, and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on November 15, 2017.

An RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
