Two men charged in connection with thefts of ATM machines

On October 4, 2017, the Southeast District RCMP arrested two men after executing search warrants at a residence in Monteagle and a residence in Salisbury. The arrests are in relation to an ongoing investigation into multiple break, enter and ATM thefts that occurred in southeastern New Brunswick over the summer months of 2017.

Joshua Jacob, a 30-year-old man from Monteagle N.B., was charged with attempted theft, mischief, intent to commit an indictable offence while having face masked, theft and possession of break in tools. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 11, 2017.

Matthew Jacob, a 36-year-old man from Salisbury N.B., was charged with attempted theft, mischief, intent to commit an indictable offence while having his face masked, theft, possession of break in tools and breach of a conditional sentence. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 26, 2017.
