Two arrested in connection with separate weekend armed robberies

The Codiac Regional RCMP has arrested two men in connection with two unrelated armed robberies on Mountain Road in Moncton.

On August 20, 2017, around 2 p.m., RCMP were called to the Needs Convenience Fast Fuel Store on the corner of Mountain and Atkinson Roads, where a man entered the store and demanded cash from the attendant. He left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured. The suspect turned himself into police on August 21. The investigation is continuing.

On August 21, around 12:20 a.m., RCMP were called to another Needs Convenience, this time at Mountain Road and Archibald Street, where a man entered the store with a gun and demanded cash from the attendant. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken. No one was injured. A 34-year-old man from Moncton was arrested and will appear in court on August 21.

Police believe there was another customer in the store at the time of the robbery. They are interested in speaking with this person as part of their investigation.
