Twenty-one-year-old man facing charges after home invasion

Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a home on Highway 3 in Daysprings just after midnight.

A 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were asleep in the home when they awoke to the 21-year-old man assaulting them. The man fled from the home, proceeded to damage a vehicle in the driveway, then left. He was later arrested in Bridgewater.

The investigation also determined that on October 28 around 2 a.m., the 21-year-old man assaulted the 19-year-old man during an incident that was not reported to police until this morning. The alleged incident took place at the same home on Highway 3 in Daysprings.

Joseph Kyle Irvine, 21, of Wileville, is facing the following charges:

· Two counts of Assault

· Two counts of Mischief

· One count of Break and Enter

He has been remanded in to custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 6 to answer to these charges.

This was not a random incident and there is no concern for the safety of the residents in the community.
